“Louise was born in 1997 in a small town in Burgundy. While she didn’t grow up surrounded by vineyards, her childhood was shaped by the tranquil rhythm of the countryside in the middle of pastures and Charolais cows. The countryside has always been her natural environment. From a young age, she was accustomed to large family gatherings where hearty meals were prepared and served at her grandparents ‘house. These moments of sharing and conviviality with her family and cousins were always an opportunity to gather around fine bottles on table. It was in this warm atmosphere that she developed a certain interest in wine. This interest gradually transformed into a passion, largely thanks to her father who took pleasure to share his love for wine with her.
She decided to leave her native Burgundy for her studies and joined the engineering school in agronomy at Montpellier Supagro, in south of France. She received comprehensive training in viticulture, terroir studies and oenology. Her agronomic approach allowed her to better understand the specific characteristics of different regions and vintages. During her studies, she had the opportunity to learn the art of winemaking from passionate winemakers in Burgundy, in Beaune, and in Rhône Valley. She participated on numerous blind tasting competitions with several international schools.
In 2021, a unique opportunity opened up for Louise at “La Revue du Vin de France”. An extraordinary chance to taste the most prestigious wines of France and explore the numerous appellations of the amazing French vineyard. This adventure allowed her to taste and gather valuable advice from renowned tasters, such as the best sommelier of the world of 2000.
Her professional adventure with Veuve Clicquot began at the vineyard, where she contributed to the implementation of experiments to improve soil quality. Then, she joined the team of winemakers to validate her National Diploma in Oenology. Curious to explore new horizons, she went in Australia to do a vintage, in the Margaret River region. It was an exciting experience that increased her knowledge of winemaking and opened her mind to other cultures before returning to Veuve Clicquot as winemaker. She joined the Development and Communication team, led by Gaëlle Goossens in August 2023.”
